Serbian Language Society
History of Serbian Language Society
The Serbian language school was established in 1980’s.
The pioneer of the efforts to provide the kids of Serbian origins an opportunity to
learn the language of their parents was a Serbian Orthodox priest, father Nikodim
Pribojan.
The school started experiencing a huge growth late 1990’s through the effort and
countless hours of work of Aleksandra Nikolic. Mrs. Nikolic had developed a school
curriculum that helped generations of students to build and broaden their Serbian
language vocabulary, enrich their knowledge about the Serbian customs and values.
After 2015, the work she started was taken over by Mrs. Olivera Rutic who had been a
teacher until 2017.
From September 2017 to 2021, Mrs. Natasa Maricic continued the work with students until
Mrs. Rutic returned from Serbia.
Mrs. Olivera Rutic is a current Serbian school teacher.
